Anna-Lisa has 15 years experience as an Occupational Therapist, the last 10 of which have been in hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Anna-Lisa graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2000 and spent the early years of her career working in public hospitals and community settings in both Perth and the UK. She worked in a variety of specialties including community neurology, lymphoedema and spinal injuries before identifying a passion for hand therapy. She commenced working in hands at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 2005, and has since worked as a senior therapist both in private practice in Perth, and in hospitals in London, Cambridge and Surrey in the UK.
Anna Lisa holds the Accredited Hand Therapist Credential (as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association). She completed her examination with the Hand Therapy Certification Commission to become a Certified Hand Therapist in 2017. This Certification is difficult to obtain and involves meeting rigorous standards, developing a long-range career path and acquiring the advanced study and training required to pass the certification examination. The Certified Hand Therapist credential is recognised by many professional organisations as a benchmark for excellence in advanced specialty credentialing in health care.
